The Jobs That Didn't Exist
Ten years ago there were no "growth hackers," no "AI ethicists," no "remote work coordinators." Those jobs emerged from the world changing, not from career planning.
Which means right now, while you're trying to pick from the existing menu of careers, new ones are being born that don't even have names yet.
The Emerging Ones
AI prompt engineer. Metaverse architect. Adaptation consultant. Meaningful work coordinator. These are real jobs that a hundred companies are hiring for, but they're not in your typical career guides.
They exist because the world changed faster than the career advice.
The Lesson
When you're choosing what to do, don't assume the existing menu is exhaustive. The most interesting opportunities are usually the ones that don't fit neatly into existing categories.
Think about what you're curious about. What problem do you want to solve? Then see if there's a way to make work out of that. Most of the time, there is. You just have to build it.
