Fit is Personal
A job that's perfect for someone else might be terrible for you. A job that someone would hate might be exactly what you need. Fit is about alignment between you and the role, not about the role being objectively good or bad.
What to Check
Can you do the core work? Not just technically. Do you have the temperament for it? Do you care about the outcome? Can you work with the people? Is the structure compatible with how you work best?
Does the environment match your needs? Some people thrive in chaos. Some need structure. Neither is wrong. But mismatch is painful.
The Honest Assessment
Before you take a role, spend time in it if you can. Shadow someone. Work on a project. See how it feels. Not how it looks. How it feels from the inside.
Your gut will tell you if it fits. Most people ignore that signal because they're excited about the title or the money. Don't do that. That signal is real.
